Preschool Snacks


Simple and delicious, Easy Fruit and Cracker Pizzas are great for after school snacks, post sports refuel, VBS or camp! Kids can make on their own, too!

Ingredients:
Crackers of your choice
Cream cheese spread   **be aware of any lactose intolerant children
Cut up fruits of your choice

Spread cream cheese on crackers and top with cut up fruits of your choice.

This is an easy enough snack that children can build themselves.

Food Groups: Dairy (may need to substitute for lactose intolerant children), grain, and fruits.




Ham and Cheese Roll Ups are an easy and healthy snack for kids and toddlers. Lots of protein! Just add fruits and veggies on the side!

Ingredients:


Deli sliced ham
String cheese

Food Groups: Dairy, Meat and Alternatives... (if you add fruit and veggies to the side of this snack, or choose to wrap it with a whole wheat tortilla, this will add all 4 food groups)

3) Cream cheese and Jam Snack Crackers

Ingredients:


Crackers of choice
Fruit jam
Cream cheese

Spread cream cheese on crackers, followed by fruit jam or jelly.

Food Groups: Grains, fruits, dairy (need to substitute or eliminate for children who are lactose intolerant)

Children can help spread the cream cheese and jam.

4)  Banana Butterflies

Butterfly banana. cut up a banana into fourths, stick pretzels in the sides for wings, raisins as eyes, and apple slices as antennas.

Ingredients:
Bananas
Pretzels
Raisins or cranberries
Apples

Cut a banana in half to make 2 butterflies.  Attach 2 pretzels on the sides to make wings.  Cut up thin apple slices for the antenna.  Add 2 pieces of raisins of cranberries for eyes.

Food Groups: Fruits and Vegetables, Grains  (have with glass of milk to add dairy)

Children will have a lot of fun if they are involved with the creation of this snack.  Especially if they are learning about butterflies.


Eat the Moon Space Snack preschool space themed snack

Ingredients:

Rice cakes (no salt)
Thin layer of cream cheese
Sliced bananas
Whole wheat cheerios

Instruct children to wash their hands.  Spread cream cheese on the rice cake.  Cut the banana into round slices.  Arrange the banana slices on the rice cake to resemble craters.  Cheerios will represent craters or moon rocks.
